Optional Tour World's Best Hot Air Balloon Flight

For those who are interested in the optional excursion of Hot Air Ballooning, you will be given the chance to do this before sunrise this morning and be back in enough time to join the tour. Cappadocia is one of the most mesmerising and magical landscapes you will ever witness in your life and what better way than to capture it all from the air. You will be collected before sunrise to enjoy watching the sun come up as you take off in your hot air balloon. An experience not to miss.

Magical land of fairy chimneys

Your day today will start at 09:30am with a pick up for the North Cappadocia Tour.

The rest of the day starts later on with visiting all the sights and areas of the North Cappadocia tour. You will get to visit the famous historical sight of the Open Air Museum. Here you can wander into the private dwellings to enjoy the ancient frescos that have been left from the Christian settlements of ancient times. Whilst you are immersing yourself in the history of the area, you will also get to visit Avanos which is famous for its pottery production. Visit one of the workshops that date back to as far as 3000 B.C. to watch the artists at their work.

Enjoy the vantage points of the day when you stop for beautiful views over Pasabag – the famous 3 headed fair chimney, as well as Goreme Esentepe that gives you a full panoramic view over all of this magical and wonderful landscape below you. You will get to stretch your legs in Dervent Valley that will leave you with the impression of walking on the moon, with the landscape often referred to as lunar like. You will also get to visit the Three Beauties, which is a beautiful view over Urgup and all the crazy rock formations there.

Your day will end with being transferred back to your accommodation around 17:00 PM.

Day 3: Cappadocia & Return to Istanbul

Cappadocia's Fascinating Red & Rose Valleys trek

Today is another action packed day with lots more still to see with the South Cappadocia Tour. This is the day to visit many of the beautiful valleys that make up Cappadocia. There is Rose Valley, named after the beautiful rose coloured rocks. Red Valley with all its many paths leading to hidden churches. Pigeon Valley that showcase all the pigeon homes that have been dug into the rock formations giving it all the unique look it holds onto today. As well as most people’s favourite Love Valley that has self-explanatory rocks as to why this valley has been given its name.

Mysterious Underground City

Today one of the other major highlights is your visit into the Underground City. These cities were dug out for the fleeing Christians to hide from persecution. They are well crafted to house not only themselves, but also livestock and store all their food, wine and water. You will marvel at the engineering of these ancient times. After being underground it will be time to enjoy the wide open spaces with a short stroll through Meskendir Valley. You will also take in the most ancient settlement in the area with a stop at Cavusin Valley and another photo opportunity with a visit to the panoramic view over Uchisar Castle.

Return to Istanbul

The tour will end around 17:00 PM where you will then have time before being transferred back to your hotel to fly back onto Istanbul. From your airport arrival in Istanbul, you will be transferred onto your accommodation there.
